MAX IV is looking for a person who will be assisting the heavy lifting team and goods entrance.

The person will participate in the 2026 summer shut down activities. The work requires previous education in lifting truck driving and experience on handling heavy equipment and supporting goods reception. A big part of the work is also work as a caretaker. The person must have documented education in handling a forklift and it is a merit if the person is educated in “Safe lifts”. The person must show focus, patience and attention to details. The tasks in this position are hands-on. It is a merit if the person gained this experience already at MAX IV.

Full time: 100% starting from 22 June and ends 31 July (both included)

Your team

The heavy lifting team and the goods entrance teams take care of, respectively, all heavy lifting and installation of heavy equipment, and the management of incoming and outgoing goods.

Your main work tasks will be

• Participate in installation and assembly work in various sections of the MAX IV.
• Taking care of incoming and outgoing goods.
• Handling internal transports around the whole facility.
• Be able to assist in heavy lifting tasks.

To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications

• Certified heavy lifting truck driver.
• Hands on experience in handling heavy equipment.
• Hands on experience supporting goods reception activities.
• The role primarily involves hands-on work and requires teamwork.
• English understanding is required.

• Practical experience of working with accelerators or equipment related to synchrotron light research, possibly at MAX IV.
