Mer information
As a Structural Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis and technical oversight of civil engineering structures throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to construction support. You will contribute to the development, maintenance and rehabilitation of CERN’s infrastructure, ensuring structural integrity, safety and compliance with applicable standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
You will join the Design Office Section (SCE-TOD-DO) within the Technical Office and Development (TOD) Group of the Site and Civil Engineering (SCE) Department, whose members participate in design, drafting and calculation support for maintenance and works for tertiary and industrial buildings.
Your responsibilities
- Perform feasibility, preliminary and detailed design studies for civil engineering structures (surface buildings, underground installations, roads and utility networks), including structural analysis and dimensioning, seismic design, and the definition of structural concepts and technical solutions adapted to project constraints.
- Review, validate and coordinate design drawings and models produced by internal drafters and external consultants, and participate in the BIM management process by providing structural engineering input and ensuring technical consistency within models.
- Assess existing structures and define reinforcement, adaptation or modification solutions, and contribute to infrastructure maintenance and consolidation programmes through structural diagnostics, condition assessments, technical recommendations, maintenance plans and monitoring of structural pathologies.
- Prepare technical specifications, contribute to calls for tender in collaboration with Procurement, and manage framework contracts related to structural engineering services.
- Support construction phases through technical follow-up, site inspections and validation of works.
