Drive the modernisation of CERN’s Geodetic Metrology data management system, migrating legacy Oracle APEX/PL/SQL applications to a Java/Spring Boot and Angular platform, while leading the redesign of a mission-critical application for CERN’s Accelerator Complex.

Your responsibilities

• Analyse Oracle APEX pages, processes and PL/SQL packages to understand business workflows and data dependencies.
• Implement Spring Boot REST APIs and Angular Frontend.
• Write automated tests and apply software quality practices.
• Participate in the whole software development lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing), following a modern agile approach to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Interact with the end-users of the services to understand their needs and help translate those into appropriate software solutions.
• Build strong partnerships with IT and multidisciplinary teams across CERN to ensure the delivery of reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions aligned with current needs and future strategic goals.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

• You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot, Croatian and Turkish nationals, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of professional experience since graduation or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of professional experience since graduation. You are not eligible with only a bachelor’s degree.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
