Mer information
The Sample Environment and Characterization group operates state-of-the-art user laboratories for sample preparation and characterization. The laboratories are equipped with a wide range of advanced characterization devices such as electron microscopes, an X-ray diffractometer, and a photoelectron spectrometer.
Specifically, for operating and further developing the electron spectrometer lab, we’re searching for a Scientist Electron Spectrometer Lab.
The Position
- Develop and operate our photoelectron spectroscopy setup using a spherical analyser
- Angular resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES)
- Photo electron emission microscopy (PEEM)
- Support internal and external users of the European XFEL in sample preparation and characterization techniques
- Scanning electron microscopy
- Focussed ion beam milling and deposition
- Optical microscopy and other lab-bases sample characterization methods
- Collaborate in scientific projects involving sample characterization
- Occasionally participate in shift work in order to facilitate user experiments.
