Mer information
FemtoMAX is an ultrafast beamline on the Short Pulse Facility (SPF) at MAX IV, utilizing femtosecond time-resolved X-ray techniques to enable studies of the structural dynamics of materials. You will join a team of scientists and research engineers who are developing the capabilities and performance of the beamline which is currently within its commissioning phase of development. We are looking for highly motivated scientists to complement our team.
Would you like to work at one of the brightest lightsources in the world?
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide user support.
- Maintaining the laser systems and laser diagnostics at FemtoMAX.
- Developing THz capabilities and performance of the beamline.
- Developing laser timing tools.
- Contribute to the research, dissemination and educational activities at FemtoMAX.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of work and safety routines.
- Being part of a research team carrying out experiments using femtosecond time-resolved X-ray techniques.
- Support beamline outreach program.
To succeed in this role you need to have the following qualifications:
- A PhD degree in a relevant subject (physics, chemistry, materials science).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in carrying out ultrafast laser-pump/hard X-ray probe experiments at large-scale X-ray facilities.
- Minimum 5 years data analysis experience with Matlab and/or Python.
- Knowledge of non-linear optics, THz generation, THz characterization and laser beam diagnostics.
- Experience with laser timing tools (cross-correlator, streak camera).
- Experience in performing THz pump / X-ray probe studies.
- Design and/or simulation software skills: Solidworks, Comsol.
- You are cultivating an inclusive and respectful workplace environment.
- Excellent command of English (both written and oral).
