As a Safety Engineer in the Safety Unit, you will play an essential role in ensuring safe operation and driving continuous improvement in the beam lines and infrastructure managed by the Beams Department.
Your responsibilities
- Evaluate safety requirements and implement risk mitigation strategies for activities, accelerator and beam operation and large-scale projects.
- Assess compliance of installations, laboratories and workshops through safety audits, inspections and testing.
- Authorise activities through safety evaluations and the issuance of safety permits, ensuring CERN's safety rules are met.
- Provide training and promote awareness on safety-related matters, ensuring best practices are understood and applied.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of CERN's safety- and quality management, including documentation.
