Join the ATLAS Data Acquisition (DAQ) team and contribute to the modernisation of one of the world’s most advanced scientific computing networks. Working alongside experienced network engineers, you will gain hands-on experience in the deployment, testing, operation, and monitoring of a high-availability, multi-terabit-per-second network that underpins the ATLAS experiment, while helping to develop future-proof monitoring and alerting solutions in collaboration with experts across CERN and the LHC experiments.

Your responsibilities

• Participate in the installation, commissioning, testing, and operation of network infrastructure supporting the ATLAS Data Acquisition (DAQ) system.
• Deploy and maintain a production-ready network monitoring and alerting solution for critical DAQ services and equipment.
• Collaborate with experts from other LHC experiments to identify common requirements and contribute to the development of scalable, future-proof monitoring solutions.
• Support the operation and upkeep of the ATLAS TDAQ laboratory, including infrastructure, equipment, and resource management activities.
• Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the ATLAS DAQ hardware infrastructure, including server deployment, hardware interventions, and related technical support.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

• You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot, Croatian and Turkish nationals, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree. You can’t hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
