As a mechanical engineer, you will be part of the Experimental Vacuum team, responsible for the beam vacuum systems of the four LHC experiments (ATLAS, ALICE, CMS and LHCb).

Your main activities will include:

  • Designing complex and highly specialised beam vacuum equipment, including production and installation tooling.
  • Manufacturing follow-up, installation, and commissioning of beam vacuum system.

Skills and/or knowledge:

  • Experience with design of ultrahigh vacuum assemblies;
  • Strong hands-on experience in precise mechanics and ultrahigh vacuum domain;
  • Experience with leak detections and residual gas analysis;

You have a professional background in Mechanical engineering (or a related field) and have either:

  • a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
  • or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
