Mer information
In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced polymers and composite materials for cryogenic and radiation hard application.
You will:
- Develop advanced polymer materials, including processing methods, for future high field magnets; examples of such are epoxy nanocomposites or hybrid resin systems;
- Investigate the physical, chemical, and interfacial properties of different polymer and composites;
- Study the ageing effect of the environment and operating condition on polymers and composites used in accelerator magnet technologies;
Skills and/or knowledge
- Knowledge of organic chemistry and chemical characterization techniques;
- Knowledge of polymer science and processing techniques;
- Knowledge of thermo-mechanical characterization of plastics;
You have a professional background in Material Engineer / Chemical Engineer (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
