As a Magnet Engineer working at CERN, your key responsibilities include:

  • Improving the magnet finite element modelling through multi-physics simulations;
  • Designing and fabricating mock-ups and small scale experiments to validate modelling and to investigate long-standing issues in Nb3Sn magnets.

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Knowledge of mechanical, thermal, and electrical engineering; • Knowledge of a FEM computation code.

You have a professional background in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and have either:

  • a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
  • or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience;
