Mer information
You will join a team working on the design and integration of superconducting and resistive magnets for the muon collider project. The team is exploring candidate configurations that are above the current state of the art. including High-Temperature Superconductor (HTS) non-insulated magnets with fields up to 40T, with the goal of achieving high energy efficiency, operating in the 10K to 20K temperature range. You will contribute to the electromagnetic design and demonstration of magnets for production, cooling, acceleration, and collision of muons, particularly to the solenoids for the 6D and final cooling cells.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in Engineering or Applied Physics (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
