The Radioactive Waste Management Group (GTDA), comprising a Head of Group, an engineer and five technicians, is responsible for the collection, treatment and conditioning of the nuclear waste produced on the ILL site, as well as for characterising waste packages and managing documentation relating to authorisations for the use of waste disposal sites. Reporting to the Head of the GTDA group, which is part of the ILL’s Health Physics, Safety and Environment Service (SRSE), you will work closely with the engineer in the group responsible for updating authorisation documentation.

Your tasks
- Preparing documentation for waste acceptance requests to be submitted to ANDRA, CYCLIFE and CEA facilities to ensure compliance with certain contracts and removal of waste packages
- Drafting the technical documentation and specifications required for the removal of waste packages, as well as obtaining and updating authorisations necessary for various waste disposal routes
- Helping to manage the waste management process: identification of waste disposal routes, application of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Drafting technical specifications in order to subcontract waste conditioning and disposal operations, as well as supporting the Radioactive Waste Management Group in coordinating work by subcontractors.
- Implementation of ILL’s new waste disposal route of melting at Centraco (making initial contact, preparing operational documentation, etc.).
The waste to be managed includes the following (non-exhaustive list): solid waste from the experimental areas (VLLW), from the reactor (LLW–ILW or HLW) and liquid waste (LLW).
