At CERN, cameras are widely used for this, from web cameras to endoscopic cameras, to RGBD cameras and other visual systems. Other sensors include thermal cameras. Machine learning and computer vision techniques can be applied on camera images to detect objects, their pose and other semantic information.

In this position, you will work on a challenging project that has the goal to detect objects and obstacles within Experimental Physics Detector cavers, allowing robots to navigate and to inspect in an autonomous way these cluttered environments.

Skills and/or knowledge

• Proven experience in C++ frameworks, Computer Vision Algorithms and Machine learning techniques;
• Knowledge of machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow and Pytorch
• Knowledge of point cloud processing Experience with camera drivers

You have a professional background in informatique (or a related field) and have either:

• a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
• or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
