The Computational Accelerator Physics section (BE-ABP-CAP) develops and maintains CERN’s software ecosystem for accelerator design and beam-dynamics simulation, providing the tools and models that drive machine performance and future upgrades. In this role you will directly contribute to the development an evolution of these tools. You will collaborate with the maintainers of accelerator model repositories to ensure their consistency and interoperability, and create new computational methods to model physical phenomena relevant to future collider design, such as the FCC-ee.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface of accelerator physics, scientific software development, and large-scale simulation, driving the design of next-generation accelerators at CERN.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of professional experience since graduation or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of professional experience since graduation. You are not eligible with only a bachelor’s degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
