The CSSB Centre for Structural Systems Biology (www.cssb-hamburg.de) is dedicated to infection biology using structural and molecular biology methods and imaging techniques in conjunction with systems biology approaches. Our goal is to unravel the underlying mechanisms of important pathogenic processes to find better treatment options against bacterial, viral, and parasitic pathogens. For this, we use the globally unique research infrastructures on the DESY campus. CSSB is a joint initiative of nine research partners in northern Germany and opened in 2017. Our aim is to establish an internationally leading research center in the Hamburg metropolitan area.
About your role:
- Technical and scientific support for the research and development projects of the working group
- Maintenance of cell cultures: (mammalian cells & bacterial cultures)
- Protein expression and purification
- Support in the preparation of samples for CryoEM and the processing of acquired datasets
- Preparation of buffers, media and solutions
- Documentation of experiments and results
