Mer information
As an applied physicist, you will be part of the LHCb electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) upgrade project. This includes the optimisation, construction, commissioning and operation of novel modules for the inner region based on Spaghetti Calorimeter (SpaCal) technology.
Your responsibilities
- Take a leading role in the enhancement of the LHCb ECAL during Long Shutdown 3 (LS3) with new modules using SpaCal technology.
- Develop and participate hands-on in quality assurance activities for the ECAL LS3 enhancement.
- Optimise the signal shaping for the new SpaCal modules in collaboration with the electronics experts.
- Organise the test beam effort, including the data analysis, within the LHCb ECAL upgrade project and coordinate the test beam activities within the LHCb collaboration.
- Participate actively in the R&D on scintillating materials towards the LHCb PicoCal (LS4) and for future particle physics experiments.
