Mer information
As an Applied Physicist for Instrumentation, you'll join the Profile Monitors (PM) Section of the Beam Instrumentation (BI) Group within the Accelerator Systems (SY) Department. The SY-BI-PM Section is in charge of designing, building and maintaining various classes of instruments devoted to the observation and characterization of the transverse distribution of particle beam.
Your role, will focus on developing beam diagnostics for the proton beam line leading to the BDF/SHiP experiment. This will be done as part of the High Intensity ECN3 (HI-ECN3) Project, which will extend the physics reach of CERN's North Area by exploiting the maximum possible proton beam intensity that the Super Proton Synchrotron can deliver to the Beam Dump Facility and SHiP experiment housed in ECN3.
Eligibility criteria:
- You have a professional background in Applied Physics or Electronics (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
